The highly anticipated upcoming university-wide intramural of Northwest Samar State University is officially scheduled on September 18-22, 2023.
This is after the Head of Sports and Physical Fitness Development Office (SPFDO), Engr. Joseph Marian Romano confirmed the conduct of the said event in an interview with The Courier.
Engr. Romano also disclosed that the lineup of sports for this year’s intramurals remains largely consistent with that of the previous year. Consequently, ball games such as basketball, volleyball, futsal, football, baseball, softball, and sepak takraw will still be part of the event. Additionally, two new sporting events, dancesports and karatedo, have been included in the list.
On the other hand, Mr. and Ms. NwSSU, which was one of the highlights of last yearโs event, is postponed due to lack of manpower and fundings. However, the screening for muse and escort will be the new avenue to select individuals who will represent the university in the upcoming SCUAA/PASUC Meet 2023.
NwSSU’s seven formidable teams, each representing a different department, will once again reign over the field with their respective moniker. The teams include the Green Dragons of NwSSU-San Jorge, Blue Tiger of COM, Blue Falcon of CoEd, Yellow Python of CCIS, Tangerine Lion of CEA, Cat Lynx Maroon of CAT, and Gray Shark of CCJS.

At the same time, the sequence of games and teams of sporting events were determined through a random drawing.
According to Engr. Romano, the schedule of activities for the week-long intramural event is set to be released today, September 14.
As of this writing, all teams have already conducted their try-out and are now on rigid training.

Similar to last year, events such as the Cheerdance and Mascot competition, Sining Tanghalan, and Ms. Spectrum are set to be conducted during the Intrams 2023. Booths and stalls are also found inside the campus for the Orgxhibition: Booth Exhibition competition.
Tickets of the aforementioned events are available in the ISSC office, SAS building Ground floor.
