The 2023 edition of NwSSUโs University-wide Intramural has officially opened Monday morning, September 18, at NwSSU Main Campus.
The university athletic field was once again jam-packed with student athletes representing the different competing teams: CCJS Grey Sharks; COED Blue Falcons; COM Blue Tigers: CEA Tangerine Lions; CAT Maroon Lynx; CCIS Yellow Pythons; and SJC Green Dragons shouting with glee and cheers.
University President Dr. Benjamin Pecayo led the opening program held after the opening parade around the city streets. He was joined by the college deans and other university officials.
โThe conduct of sports endeavors like this annual Intramural is a good way to foster cooperation, camaraderie, and unity among us,โ Dr. Pecayo said in his speech during the opening ceremonies.
โToday marks the most anticipated events this school year as this is the perfect time to highlight camaraderie and sportsmanship, and vast talents of our students,โ the university president added before he declared the formal opening of Intrams 2023.
The opening ceremonies also featured the battle of Intramurals Muse and Escort 2023 where contestants showed off their sports attire.
The annual Cheer Dance and Mascot Competition also hyped up the field more for their cute monikers and colorful costumes after the opening program.
The week-long #NwSSUIntrams2023, which will happen this September 18-22, banners the theme, โChampioning Character: Embracing Sportsmanship on the field of Play.โ
